Blogtoberfest Day 31 - FINAL DAY

Happy Halloween to all you ghosts and goules.....

We had a couple turn up at the door tonight...
So what does and Ghost and Goule get when you knock on the balloon ladies door?
Balloons!!!!

This is half the kids from our street!!
And to think a few years ago, mine were the only 2 kids in the street.

Anyway today i went to archery!!
Its the first time in about a year
and then i went once last year....
But i used to be pretty damn good at archery and thought i might make a come back!!
This is what we were shooting today

These are called delta targets and are photos of real animals on cardboard.
The kill zone on this guy is about 5cm diameter
and he was about 5 metres away between the trees..
I got 2 kills and a wound.
There is a kill, a wound and a hit. 20, 15, 10 points score

This is another angle for the targets that they like to try..
Down through the rocks and trees.
This target was about 35 metres i think...
 This is another tricky one
you have to shoot between the rocks..
Its about 5 metres away
Killed this little bloke 3 times!! Poor guy!
And this one is the ugliest shot on the range...
See that butt all the way at the bottom of the hill.
You stand on like a cliff face and shoot down to the butt..
Its about about 40 odd metres.
I had 2 wounds and a hit.. Was very pleased!!!
Stu gave me a Wild Pea flower..
See in my hat
and thought he should take a photo so i can put it on my blog.
He can be such a sweetie
This was the second last target and i was exhausted!!!
I have a Matthews Prestige Bow with Fully adjustable site with a scope.
So i look through a peep site in my string, then through a scope like a gun.
I have a release aid like a trigger..
And that long black thing at the front is a stabiliser..
Quiet a good setup for three years ago, but a bit old fashioned now!!
I saw the most awesome bow today, it was all a lovely rose pink
with artwork on the limbs of pink flower vines!!
So Cute!!
Can you see the red scratch on my cheek?
Yeh, i was informed that my face is now to fat for my setup and thats why i keep scratching my face!!!
I got this setup when i was quiet a few kilos lighter
Whoops!!
Maybe that might be incentive enough to get serious again hey!!!

I would just like to thank tinniegirl
for hosting the Blogtoberfest 2010
It was great fun!!

Blogtoberfest Day 30 - 25 random things about Me

Seeing as its my second last day today with the
Blogtoberfest Challenge
and tomorrow is MasterBLOGchef
I thought i would share this little game thats going around facebook at the moment...
If you would like to join in
Link in with Mister Linky at the end of this post..
You copy the address of your post into Mister Linky...

Ok lets see:
1. My name is Jodi Blanche Dolbel

2. I was named after my Pop's Mother Blanche Heagney who was a famous pianist... (Regionally Famous)

3. I was born and breed in Narrabri, NSW, Australia

4. I always wanted to be in the school musical in high school but could never sing a word at the auditions. Was so nervous nothing would come out!!!

5. I was selected for the representative Hockey team in Year 7 (Which was never done, you had to be in Year 9 to even be looked at) without ever picking up a hockey stick because my Mum was known by the coach who had heard of my Mum when she played for the State team when she was at school!! I mean, how weird was that!!!  I was on the way to a hockey career, when this kid started picking on me all the time and finally one day i snapped and punched this boy in the nose. Apparently i broke it.  His father who was a cop came to the school to tell the principal he wanted something done about this girl who bashed up his son.  My punishment, was to be removed from the representative hockey team!!! I've never forgiven the boy for this because what he failed to tell his father is that he had been sexually harassing me all year! This day he tried to grab my boobs in Agriculture, and i had had enough!!!  Mind you when i went to tell the principal my side of the story it was "Who are we going to believe, this policeman's son or you?" In that short year i went from never picking up a stick to being selected for the regional team and the state team, but never got the play the game at state level! Makes you wonder where it could have gone!! I was banned for the rest of my high school career. Bit of a harsh punishment wouldn't you say for defending myself!!!
(Wow, that was a long one!!)

6. I ended up leaving school after year 10 and going to Tech like everyone did in the 80's.

7. My first ever job was at Payless Superbarn as a check out chick!!! I wagged school when i turned 14 and got a job there. Than rang mum to come and pick me up!!! lol

8. I did a clerical trianeeship at the Narrabri Shire Council when i was 18.

9. My all time favorite job was working as a bar maid at Narrabri RSL and watching the bands from behind the bar on a Friday night!!

10. I lost my licence when i was on my Ps.... (Sound familiar)  Speeding and no seat belt!

11. I was HUGE into the aerobics phase!! Remember that? Loved it! Used to go every night right up until i moved to Moree where they didn't have aerobics.

12. Yes, when i stopped doing aerobics every night i started putting on weight!!! Grr!!

13. I love to read!! Have always read of a night before i go to bed.

14. My all time favorite person in the world appart from Stu, Mum and the kids was my Nanna Job!! I had so much respect for her and wanted to be just like her. She used to decorate the Devils Football Club Table every year and it looked awesome!!!  Funny enough i am now a wedding decorator!!! She was raised in an orphanage and had no love to speak of growing up, but the love and acceptance she had for her family was so beautiful. I know she loved me and that i bought so much joy to their lives! I miss her all the time. We used to sing songs and recite poetry and all those fun things you do with your grandparents.

15.  Once upon a time i could water ski on a single...

16. I got drunk on beer and vomited under the table for the first time at Narrabri RSL when i was 14!! Yes those were the day! No ID Checks!!!

17. I fulfilled a bucket list item in 2008 when i went to a gay bar in Brisbane!!  It was an eye opening for a country girl!! Very fascinating!!

18.  I went to see ABBA the Musical at Star City Casino in Sydney! It was awesome!!!

19. I've also seen Grease the Arena Spectacular with Craig McLaughlan in New Castle and in Tamworth!! Awesome show!!

20. Went to see ACDC in Brisbane last year as a junket!!

21. I have no tattoos but i think i would like one eventually, I just dont know what i would get?

22.  I have my right ear pearced up high to accommodate the ONE diamond earing Stu gave me as he gave the matching one to another girl!!! (Can you believe the hide of it!!)

23. My horses name was Thor. I named him that as had a lightning streak blaze down his face.. He was so sweet, alot like Solo only much bigger. He was a prize winning Stock Horse before he was broken in.

24. I've ridden a potty calf at a rodeo and i come off so hard that i never attempted it again!!!

25.  I made up my mind to change the direction of my life when i was 14 and its turned out far better than i ever had dreamed!!!

So there we are, 25 things......
Lets see how you go?

Some WOW!!! Featuring Solo

I had the perfect opportunity this morning to do a photo shoot....
Emelia was teaching Solo how to do some tricks
using a CARROT as bribery!!!
So I took some great photos
to use with my lovely new HORSEY WORDS OR WHATEVER!!!
I also used today's sketch from Sketchy Thursdays
"For the love of a crunchy carrot"
I used WOW's
Horse Shoe Runner
Rearing Horse
and Banner...

Here he is reaching high for his carrot...
He is sure there is something in the pocket...
Now to get it out without a bite on the bum!!!

Now its in the front pocket!!
Trying to get Solo to bow
by lifting his front leg
and making him really reach behind him for the carrot!!!
He dips his back legs doesn't he....
Not the front like he is supposed to!
Or he just reaches around with his really bendy neck!!!!
 He is a funny horse!!
Emelia is really interested in horse handling at the moment.
Looking up Natural Horse Management on Youtube
and learning heaps...
then she  comes out and experiments with Solo...
He is picking it all up fast!
The thing that suits Emelia most is that its all done in a halter and bareback!!
This bloke has rarely seen a saddle and bridal lately
and he is so well behaved without all that other equipment on him...
But of course, you cant do this anywhere else other that the backyard of paddock!!

 Solo will tell you
He's been just a little neglected since Camp..
Emelia has been spending time with the "other" man in her life!!!
So she bought him in for a TLC
Bath time!!
He doesn't mind a bath though
The best part is drinking all the water fresh from the tap that he likes!!!
Straight from the tap!!
He loves to play with it with his lips too!!

MasterBLOGchief - Learning to cook every week for a year

If Donna Hay can help 10 year olds become MasterChefs!
Surely she can help me!!

The Challenge:
To cook a Donna Hay Recipe once a week for a year!!

Anyone that knows me at all, knows that i really suck at cooking!!!
I mean suck, big time...
You know that thing where you have a knack that this and this might taste ok together...
Yeh, I dont have that!
At all
Nadda!!!

So i have decided that i am going to try to teach myself to cook
using the recipes of our fabulous Aussie chef
Donna Hay....

It would be totally AWESOME if there are other non cooks out there that would like to join with me in the journey to MasterBLOGchef!!

I am working on a Mister Linky to put on my weekly post showing what i have cooked up and how it went.
Im thinking that i might make it a Sunday post
where we share what we have done with a Mister Linky
We can pat each other on the bat and tell each other what legends we are!!!
Sounds good hey!
I know my son is really keen on Mum doing this challenge!!!

So this Sunday 30th October, i will post my first attempt at being a
