FLOOD REVISION!!! - Gunnedah

The news items i was relying on for my information, was incorrect, as a trip around twon at 11.30am reveled.
The floods peak was at 12 noon today, not 12 midnight as per reports!!!
Photos revealing the levels follow...
This photo was taken in Rosemary Street, Bloomfield end. Bloomfield Street is actually underwater!!!
The white arrow shows the field i played softball on on Thursday and is where yesterdays photos were taken that were on my blog...
It rose quiet a bit!!!

This is another angle dwn towards the river... You can see the baseball fields...
Here is Mullibah Lagoon, usually with a light flow of water through it....
A saw these kids down there with a suspicious looking ramp on a wheelbarrow!!!
Yes, typical boy behaviour!!
Didnt take two guesses to figure out what this was being used for...
I was pleased to see them being "safety" conscious!!
They had a boyancy vest ON THE BIKE!!!!
They were going to make sure at least the bike didnt get washed away and drowned!!!
I think someones Mum needs to talk to this boy about Priorities!!
This is the Tamworth ROad Bridge....
Not quite under..
But the water is across the road at Redbank, where the river comes close to the highway...
Brenda lives out there and has been cut off from town!!
The cows dont seem too concerned!!!
A drive upto the local lookout reveals the extent of the flooding....
You can see the water at the bridge..
You can see how far it extends out...
Uptowards the top of this photo is where it is crossing the road at Redbank out where Brenda lives...

Here it is over town...
And then out towards Quirindi....
It looks like it might have peaked as there looks like damage out past the water line.
Jacquie went looking this morning, and it wasnt this far out apparently.
Will have to check out her blog...

So thats my run about town.
Have taken a couple of videos and will download them when i remember how??

We Were Lucky - Gunnedah Floods

News Copied from ABC News here
The New South Wales town of Gunnedah appears to have escaped serious damage overnight following flash flooding in the state's north.
Tamworth was yesterday declared a disaster zone after flooding from the Peel River split the town in two and it was predicted the floodwaters would spread throughout the region.
But State Emergency Service spokeswoman Erin Pogmore says the SES has not received any requests for assistance in Gunnedah.
Ms Pogmore says the Oxley Highway is closed this morning because of the flooding in the area.

I havnt been out for a drive this morning yet, though i will now as i was waiting on a customer.

I will take some photos and share with you.

GUNNEDAH FLOOD!!!!

We had a night of vrey heavy rain last night....
Infact 82 mil of rain in 40 minutes!!!
We arent in flood zone, but we are in the middle of a hill, which means all the water and debree that gets washed down from the hill seams to come through our yard!!!
Here is a photo. Behind them in the culvert which is supposed to catch all the flow off!!! It didnt!!! It flooded!!!

The poor rabbits and guinie pig were sitting in the middle of it trying to swim for it!!!
So Stu & JOsh had to perform a rescue!!

Behind them is also my achieve shed!!
All the kids baby clothes and toys are stored in this shed, with their books and 1001 other things....
5" of water and mud went through it!! SO today, Mum and i were on cleanup duty!!
Also, my balloons and weddings workshop got flooded. About 2 - 3 inches went through it...
This is the photo of that area!!

This frog found a safe place to sit it out!!!
We also had a tree go down!!!

Here it is today...

With all the rain we got, and the 180mil that Tamworth got, Gunnedah is about t flood. It should reach the peak about midnight.
All the houses are being evacuated.. So sad for them!! SO much work to clean it all up!!!
At lunch time today the water was at those seats and green bin that can just be seen. This is the spot that the kids usually walk their horses through....

Quote of the Day!!!!

"Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater.
If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she'll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit."

Take Care

Brenda, Jack & I were going to have a scrap day today.....
But alas, I ended up cleaning the house instead!!!
But this afternoon, i pulled out one of Brenda's VERY CHEAP
Scraparooney packs and made
this.....
"I can take care of myself"...
Just for a bit of fun

I was outside taking photos of the layout, and look what i found...
Not a cat with the rabbits,
but a kid in with the rabbits...
Honestly, how old is this girl!!! LOL
This might be my next "fun" layout!!!
And other news...

A Chrisco Disaster....

After what happened last year with all these Chrisco delivieries, the dissappointments are happening again.....
Read Ness's story here...
How dissappointing!!!
I was kinda contemplating this last year, but decided not to, as i couldnt find a hamper with food we all liked...
Im kinda pleased i didnt!!!
With temperatures out here, the food wouldnt last very long at all!!!

My Day

Well, today has been extremely unproductive!!!!

But varied....
First off.....
Here is our neighbours cat, snuggling up to our rabbits...
I thought they were making friends, but our neighbour tells me he feeds is cats rabbit that he has shot himself...
so this little cat is evidently just playing with what he thinks is his lunch...
Him better watch himself if he tries to eat our babies!!!

Then as i am getting organised to start my day, Stu needs to take a trip to Tamworth... Ok I thought I will go to spotlight and look at some material...
It took 2 hours to get there via Spring Ridge!!!
There goes my day!! Grrr!!
So i took the camera and got some harvest photos....

And closer.. bit hazy!!

Went to feed Solo yesterday!!
Guess what we found??
They had gotton into the feed shed!!! ANd spread their food everywhere and ate half of it!!!
Hence, we didnt feed them yesterday as they had helped themselves!!!
This is solo today, sticking his nose in to help himself again!!
Hes so cute!!!
And again saying hello to emelia...
He wouldnt talk to me today!!! :(

Here is this months Scrap with V sketch challenge!!!
Shrine to the HSC Gods...

Happy Birthday Jack!!!

It was Jack's Birthday yesterday.....
So today we celebrated, as usual at The Verdict!!!!
Jack was so pleased with her little elf and christmas tree charms, being the Excited Christmas Celebrator that she is...
As well as an Mamma Mia DVD and some silver shoe decorations for her tree...
Here is Jack & Brenda....

And Jack & Jodi......

Now I am so NOT a card maker, but i made this gorgeous little K & Co gift box for Jacks charm, so i thought i would just try to go outside my comfort zone and make a card to match...
I was so pleased with them.....

Arnt I clever.... *Pat on the back*

And here is me today....
Im conducting a bit of an experiment...

If it works i shall share it with you, but if not than your none the wiser hey???

So thats my news...

My Weekend

Emelia made me this gorgeous card on Friday!!!
She said, because i liked the other one so much, that she made me one...
So sweet!!!
We played a game of Archery on Sunday.
It was the Gunnedah/Tamworth interclub challenge.....
but for the second time, they didnt turn up!!!
Very dissappointing!!
So we had the Gunnedah Mowvember fundraiser for our Club Candidate....
Doenst he look like a typical 70's looking bloke!!!
Just incase you havnt heard of Mowvember, its men raising awareness and funds for Mens Mental Illness.
Previlient in country towns, where income is reliant on the weather, and there is no control over ones future....
Its a great awareness campaigne and lots of fun....
Here is Karen on target....
We shot paper targets today
Here is Mat shooting a downhill close rabbit....
Over that large rock!!!

Matt again

And big Kenny Thompson.....
Ken shoots olympic style archery, so of all the competitors on the range, this is the only guy you might see at an olympics

Emelia had a sleep over at a friends farm on the weekend, so i went out and picked her up after archery....
Then we went to the pictures to see "Dutchess".
Wasnt a huge fan of that movie, I dont like movies where woman are illtreated and raped and things....
so wasnt my cup of tea
Movies like that make me feel really yukky!!!
Off to the Verdict today to celebrate Jacks birthday!!!!
It was yesterday.....

This is the Funniest Yarn!!!!

Thanks LisaA

Why females should avoid a girls night out after they are married....

If this does not make you laugh out loud, you have lost your sense of humor.

The other night I was invited out for a night with the 'girls.' I told my husband that I would be home by midnight, 'I promise!'

Well, the hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily.

Around 3 a.m., a bit loaded, I headed for home.

Just as I got in the door, the cuckoo clock in the hallway started up and cuckooed 3 times.

Quickly, realizing my husband would probably wake up, I cuckooed another 9 times. I was really proud of myself for coming up with such a quick-witted solution, in order to escape a possible conflict with him. Even when totally smashed.. 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos totals = 12 Cuckoos (MIDNIGHT!)

The next morning my husband asked me what time I got in, I told him 'MIDNIGHT'... he didn't seem pissed off in the least.

Whew, I got away with that one!

Then he said 'We need a new cuckoo clock.' When I asked him why, he said, 'Well, last night our clock cuckooed three times, t
hen said 'oh shit.' Cuckooed 4 more times,
cleared its throat, cuckooed another three times, g
iggled, cuckooed twice more,
and then tripped over the coffee table and farted.

LMAO!!!! How many off us old birds can relate to this!!!

Some Layouts

Here is my Final Tastes of India challenge at
Direct 2 U Scrapbooking...
The Challenge: A layout using orange, brown and red, bling and 2 or more photos and two or more patterned papers...
Here is a sweet little card.. well 30 x 30 card that Emelia made her friend. Isnt it gorgeous!!!

Feeling OK today after my relisation last night!!!
But i WILL find that switch!!!
Im confident!!

I really think the 355 day challenge helped me to actually "see" myself if you know what i mean.
So I am thinking i might go back to that idea, of just taking a photo of myself everyday. Not necessarily load it onto the blog, but just to keep things real so i dont get complacent....

See how clever my Mum is here

Shes made the Love Album that i taught at D2U on Wednesday and it looks awesome!! Great job Mum!!
