Is a chicken salad sandwich a good low fat lunch choice????

Ok, i was setting up a wedding today, and watching what i eat this week and losing alittle bit of weight....

But i thought id treat myself to a chicken salad sandwich - hey, thats a pretty healthy low fat choice... Its not Maccas afterall!!!!

I bought it from the corner shop, but didnt think about the extras did i? Like Margarine. I dont use it at home here.

So anyway, i sit down to do my food diary and put all the ingredients in....
My Chicken Salad sandwish for lunch was 7.5 points!!!!! Thats HUGE!!!! A meal is normally about 4 1/2 - 5.. like lasange or chicken fetticinni.....
Time to rethink when i order lunch.... live and learn!!

GUESS WHAT???????

I bought tickets last night to go and see Pink in Sydney!!!!
It was increadible, as i was online the tickets were just dissappearing while im still trying to register!!!!
I stated out buying the Saturday ones, and in the end ended up with the Wednesday Tickets and a couple of the last seats as it was!!!!
But we bought them and we are going in June 2009!! Talk about forward planning!!!!

I just love this song and the filmclip!!!! If it wasnt so funny, it would be quite sad.... Shes a brilliant muso!!!

Not Much to share.......

I dont have any layouts to share (or that i can share... Ive done heaps for DT) but i was flicking through some old photos today and thought i would share Emelias long term desire for a horse.

Since she was about 2 she has wanted one so desperately. She was obsesed. She didnt have dolls, she had horse farms... all shapes and sizes of horses all in their own families.
Her walls were plastered in Pony Palls posters and Stu read the whole series of Pony Pals to her before before bed time... Along with Black Beauty the old version and the newer one...

When you think about it, no wonder she was so lost and never fit in anywhere - beacuase she wasnt able to do the only thing she really wanted to do...

Here is a photo of her at Gunnedah show. She would have been about 2 1/2.

Here she is again at about 4. She actually put this photo in a Mcdonalds frame she got from a happy meal and put it on Stuarts side of his bed attaching it to the wall.... its still there.... Expresing her desire to ahve her own horsy.
In the "olden" days, before the kids got a bit older and we got some resemblance of life back.... every year each of us would choose somewhere to have our holiday. This particular year, it was emelias turn and all she wanted to do was go to a horse farm.
So we did a farm stay at Oberon. They bred horses and had all sorts of animals. Emelia was totally in her element!!!
We had ridig each day, although due to the fowl weather, we didnt venture outside the roundyard.
There was also a foal born while we were there... The weather the whole time was shocking and i remember it cost a fortune!!! We didnt have much money back then and this kind of holiday was a huge luxury for us.... But Emelia loved it!!
While i was flicking through, i also came across this realy cute photo of Josh and Rexy!!! Rexy is still here on the bookshelf. I found him a few months ago packed up, so bought him out again.
Rexy was a teranisorus rex dinosaur toy complete with dress shirt!! Josh took him everywhere, so he put a shirt on his so people wouldnt think him rude!!! So cute what kids do.!!

So thats a trip down memory lane..

See this is why i scrapbook, to share my stories with the kids when they forget them and then they can share them with their kids....

Some Fun Stuff

We are discovering all these little talents of our new clever horse!!
Yesterday when emelia was hosing him down, he took a drink from the hose... so cute....

Today he went for the sprinkler and i caught it on video!! He is so clever our Solo...

Press the play button to watch him....

Note: That horrible voice isnt me..... its someone else, im sure i dont talk that way!!!! :(

Here is Emelia doing a workout in the paddock out the back. For those of you that dont know Gunnedah, the rooves represend the culdesac that we live in. The paddock has been subdivided for a new subdivision that will start soon... very sad to loose our arena!!
Stu got out with the shipper snipper yesterday and cut a track and a ring for her.

Here is a layout i have up on.. It was going to be this months 123 challenge... didnt happen!!!

So thats me....
Thanks for stopping by.. Seeya

More Photos of Solo

Solo already has a layout.
This was the third class i did at Scrapbook n bits by Jolene Pieneer.... Gorgeous layout using the new pink paisley papers.

And here are some more Solo piccies.
Emelia took him riding today and he had a panick attack. We knew this was part of the deal, so it came to no surprise. He isnt really used to being in town and all the noises. He was scared of a motorbike, the guy on the harley was nice enough to stop and turn the bike off until Solo stopped raring up. But after a pat and some reassurance, he was fine. It will take a little while for him to sdjust, but im sure he will do really well with Emelia.

Here he is after a wash this morning... all shiny!!!

And with Emelia...
Look at his face, isnt he gorgeous. He is the sweetest boy. He follows me everywhere. When i am in the paddock, he is at my shoulder the whole time, looking for a cuddle. I think he really does like to be loved. He loves being pet and cuddled.

Isnt he beautiful!!!

Welcome to the Family Solo

Off we went today to Kurri Kurri to have a look at Solo.....
As soon as we pulled up and saw him, both Emelia and I fell in love with him... But we didnt say anything to each other, as we were told this was to be a decision with our head, not our heart!!!

Emelia was so good about it too, and very honewst with herself about it. She didnt mind being a pain and changing bits and bridles and things to see how he moved with a different bit.

She did some flat work, some sporting and even a walk across the creek!!!!

But it was evidenced to everyone that these two belonged together....

Here he is walking through the creek... Look how happy emelia is on him... Isnt he beautiful!!!
Poor Solo, we put him in the stable tonight when we got home and the paddock is full of kangaroos tonght!! He is wide eyed checking them out. I dont think they must be as thick at Kurri Kurri as what they are here.... But he will get used to them.

Cimmi had a bit of a squeel and a kick, but they will become friends sooon enought. Cimmi is just making sure Solo knows who the boss is.....

And see what else we found this morning.... We are the koala capital!!!

Last night i attended a class being taught be the talented Jolene Pieneer..... I learnt so many things in these classes. There were three layouts, the third i will do t0night!!

This one "The Princess turns 15" I learnt that i can put crystals over flowers...

And this one.... "about a Girl"

I learnt some painting techniques, ideas for journalling, and different uses for rub ons...

Tomorrow we are fencing. Solo is used to these magnificent yards, only to come to these broken down old fences... So tomorrow we are fixing them up and taking the horses for a ride.
Apparently I am on Cimmi and bareback!!! Ok??? That might be interesting... I so need a saddle. I ahve saved up some money, jsut gotta find one that my arse will fit in!!!

Thanks for stopping by... seeya :)

D2U Scrapbooking Class

I did this class through the week by Kristy from Direct 2 You Scrapbooking!! Isnt it awesome..
An Advent Calender!!!
Id never have thought of this design, but its great isnt it!!!

Here is one of the three layouts im doing as part of the DT for D2U Scrapbooking....
"Anyone for Coffee"
And December is OTP Month... so here are some decorated bags... Ive never done these before, so was quite a challenge...

New Horse Preparation........

Tomorrow we are heading to the Hunter Valley to check out this guy.......
We have been chatting on the phone to the owners, and he does sound really good, but we have to hold out until we actually see him... his name is Solo.

He will be sharing the paddock with our lovely Cimmi, who i am sure will adore the company!! She loved pony club and socialising with all the other horses... Especially when Sweeny had a sleep over.. she cried when he left.... So i am sure they will get on really well...

So just incase we are bringing another horse home, we thought we'd better clean the place up a bit... And at the same time, share some lovely photos...

This is the paddock we walk across to get to ours..... Yes we try not to think about snakes...even though Emelia killed one the other day!!!!

And here are the stables... These are classic old buildings. Great for photo backdrops...
The paddock is always full off these things.... kangaroos.... We can get quite close to them.. They no we are of no threat. During the drought, it was nothing to see them at our back door...

Here is one in action.....

Here is Mat & Emelia looking at all the great finds when they were cleaning up today. They found all sorts of car parts, a bottle containing very odd specimans, and a bottle full of something red.... thats what she is looking at now...
Now i also havnt shown you the other lastest edition..... This is flopsy snuggled up with the guinie pig...
And of course Pancakes, you used to be as small as flopsy!!! They are all getting on brilliantly!!

And thats today photo gallery!!!
Will let you know our news about the horse tomorrow night!!
Im off to a class taught by Jolene tonight!!! Yay!!!!

CRIKEY!!! Would ya look at that!!!

We's been snake killin'!!!

Emelia has been down at the stables, cleaning out the second stall for a "maybe" new arrival this weekend!!
Its where the previous stall keepers (for like the last 50 years!!) have kept food, food containers, bags of poo and anything else!! There were piles and piles of rubbish!!!

So shes been cleaning and came across a little brown snake.. about a foot long... she chopped it in half with the shuvel..

She went looking for the halves of it and came across a biggger snake... this must have been its brother or something!! About 1 1/2 foot long and round. Didnt want to die either... took some hitting with the shuvel..

Shes not sure she wants to continue cleaning out that stall or not... mummy snake might be in there somewhere and she aint gonna be happy about her disspearing babies!!!

Here are all the bikes lined up at the pie shop - apparently this place had the best sausage rolls...

A weekend of Scrapping

I am totally inlove with this layout!!!!

I gotta say though.. the concept isnt mine.... I did lift alot of it from Marlin Dahlstrom.
I cant remember how i found her now, but she is a designer from Sweeden who does the most gorgeous work.
I saw her layout and i had similar papers so thought id give it ago. Ive added losts of different things, but you can tell the basic design is hers... So thank you Marlin, i love your stuff!!!

When you step out the back door, the most beautiful fragrance hits your nose... its a Jasmine, but not the same we have been smelling for the last couple of weeks.. this is a different smell. So i went down the back to investigate. At first i couldnt see any evidence of where the fragrance could be coming from... and then i spotted just a few of these....
I lvoe Chineese jasmine.. its so fresh and beautiful!!
Dreadful on the sinuses though...

Hope you had a great weekend. Stu it at his parents place tonight enjoying their campany and the company of his sister and her daughter....
Starting to miss him s bit now. But i dont want him to rush home.. this trip is important to him, i would like to see him come home inspired again!!!

Till tomorrow.. seeya!!

Some Memories to Share.....

I dont have any new layouts to share, or photos....
But i was goin through some old photos and thought id share these...

I think ive shown you this one...
Emelia with Cimmi when Emelia was about 6-7 years... Theyve been old mates. Cimmi still looks the same... very fluffy!!!!

Here is one of Stu in maybe 1998.. We had recently moved to Gunnedah and renting this house. Dont the kids have some fun on those slip and slides. I remember stus ribs ached after this!!!
I lvoe this photo of emelia....Looking feral as ever and reading to the kitty!!!! She loves her animals...
And here is one of us girls.... This is Traceys wedding way back in.... goodness me... maybe 1996.. I have changed heaps.. i think i look youger. Im the fat one in the purple dress, with the dicky fringe. Julie is on the end in the blue, Jo is in the black. There was a photo of the four of use from last weekend... Great as a comparison...
Well, its raining where Stu is. But the big ride is tomorrow, so he is hoping for fine weather.. He had a hard sleep on the ground last night with no matress, but enough Bourbon to not feel it apparently...... Josh is sure that STu will miss his little green bike in his rear view mirror. Josh had to sit this trip out as he sat his first HSC exam today... English.... Hmm, we just wont talk about that apparently.....
